Airbnb brings 575,000 guests to Amsterdam – NU.nl

That made the US rental website Saturday.

In total there were 2015 two million overnight stays in private homes. 14,200 Amsterdammers shared last year their house through Airbnb. By comparison, Amsterdam had in 2015 more than 29,000 rooms and 64,000 beds in regular hotels.

Each room has hired an average of 28 days via Airbnb. And that is lucrative for the owners, it appears. It earned an average of € 3,800 per dwelling on. It is remarkable that one third of the rental needs the income from the rent to meet.



Ban

86 percent of the owners lives themselves offer in the home that they through Airbnb. In Berlin earlier this month came a ban on houses that are offered only for private rental.

Furthermore, the figures of the rental website that nearly a third of the Airbnb guests in Amsterdam say they had not come to town without Airbnb, and 78 percent say they will come back sooner.
