Pepsi and Coca Cola pledge to sell fewer calories – De Morgen

The soft drink manufacturers Coca Cola, Pepsi and Dr. Pepper yesterday promised to help to take care that 20 percent fewer calories get inside Americans in the next decade.

They will do so promote lower-calorie alternatives to their drinks: smaller quantities, the light variations and water bottles. The three largest soft drink brands in America made their pledges during the Clinton Global Initiative, a conference of the Clinton family.

The commitment is in line with the consumer trend of recent years, which in the United States less soda

drinking. Coca Cola and Pepsi have been promoting more smaller bottles and cans, which also even have a bigger profit margin yet. Additionally, there are water bottles come with a flavor in the range.

The new strategy of the soft drink manufacturers is also seen as a way to get around. Stricter laws around sweet drinks In New York, there were plans to ban large cups of soda and San Francisco is a bill for tax on sugar.
