Air France sees number of strikers decrease slightly – Fair Devil

PARIS (Reuters) – Pilots of Air France also threaten to lay down their work next week. This was reported by the French newspaper La Tribune Thursday according to sources within the relevant trade union SNPL.

Air France cease Friday a smaller part of its pilot corps in protest against new austerity measures. The past few days were about 60 percent of the pilots not to work. The company expects that 45 percent of all flights go through. That would be a little over the past few days. The damage is already in the tens of millions of euros.

The pilots oppose plans to expand budget airline Transavia while the loss-making European and domestic network of Air France itself expected to continue

to be cleaned up. They fear that this will continue working conditions. Expense The salaries of pilots at Air France and Transavia do not differ much, but there are major differences in working hours and benefits.

It is unclear still how long the strike will last. The pilots unions are there too themselves out yet. Daily La Tribune reported earlier in the day that the actions, initially announced for the period 15 to 22 September, may be continued next week. The newspaper relied on sources within the union SNPL, who later said that members Saturday to decide whether they are going back to work.
