Consumententak DELTA sold to Swedish investment company – NU.nl

With the buyer, EQT Infrastructure is a purchase price of 488 million euro has been agreed, reports DELTA Tuesday.

DELTA ceo Gerard Uytdewilligen mentions the sale of the consumententak “an important step” in the history of the Zeeland company.

“The financial strength of EQT Infrastructure gives DELTA Retail, the opportunity to invest in further growth and improvements of the cable network and the quality continue to improve and to build,” says Uytdewilligen.

Restructuring

The sale of the retailtak is part of a previously announced restructuring of DELTA. Until recently supported the stable outcomes of the network company the company financially, but DELTA is legally required that activities to be split. The company has until 1 July next year the time for.

Ancillary problem is that DELTA is also the owner of the nuclear power plant in Borssele. This nuclear installation can’t just be sold. The shareholders of DELTA, including the province of Zealand, are even with the cabinet in consultation about a possible solution. The Hague wants the current owners of the DELTA to the rescue, but who will then themselves have to invest.

DELTA Retail employs 370 voltijdsbanen. That go along to the new owner. About the future of the remaining employees of DELTA falls according to a spokesperson yet nothing to say.

The sale is agreed subject to approval by the shareholders of DELTA and a positive advice of the works council. Also, the Authority Consumer & Market still give their consent for the sale.
