Apple has, as expected, an update to its MacBooks presented. The new devices are equipped with a fingerprint sensor for Apple Pay, the payment service of the techbedrijf.
Also, the devices are much lighter than the predecessors. Yesterday leaked all new developments by accident.
New touch screen on keyboard
As was already proved, is the biggest overhaul to a so-called OLED bar above the keyboard. This is the place of the function keys (e.g. F1, F2, and F3). With this touch screen, users can quickly all kinds of functions. Depending on the app that the user has open, shows the Touch Bar different buttons and options.
The bar during the typing suggestions for words or emoji show. Users can also manually set which applications they on the Touch Bar. Microsoft builds support for the Touch Bar in its programs, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Skype.
fingerprint recognition
The MacBook Pro has the fingerprint recognition TouchID built into the on/off button. Thus, it is possible to set the laptop to unlock or to make payments with Apple Pay. That payment service is still not available in the Netherlands.
With fingerprint recognition, multiple users can quickly log in to their profiles on the same MacBook Pro. The size of the screen your mouse is doubled, and the keys are slightly larger.
more Powerful and thinner
The MacBook Pro’s are thinner and lighter than previous models, and available in silver and dark grey. The laptops have more powerful chips and graphics cards and the SSD storage drive is two times faster than the predecessors.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar cost in the US from 1799 dollar, the 15-inch version costs from 2399 dollars. The MacBook Pro also remains available in a cheaper version without Touch Bar (from 1499 dollars). The Dutch prices are not yet known. Apple unveiled not a new version of its cheapest laptop, the MacBook Air.
