It was never so expensive to rent a house in Amsterdam free sector as now.
On average in the capital included a rent of € 19.31 per square meter, the NIS reported Saturday on the basis of data from online rental platform Pararius. That’s more than the previous peak in 2008, when the price was just under € 19. During the crisis, the rent fell to around € 16 per square meter in 2010.
The difference between the rents in Amsterdam and in other major cities since 2010 to take. Rotterdam (€ 12.50), The Hague (€ 13), Utrecht (€ 14) and Eindhoven (€ 12), rents were in the private sector in recent years, barely up.
Volgens Jasper de Groot, director of Pararius, the difference is largely explained by the large supply of social housing in Amsterdam. In the capital, 58% of the social housing rent, while the national average is 35%. That drives the price up, now the market recovers private homes.
“Properties are scarce and that drives the price up,” says De Groot against the broadcaster. “That means high mortgage, but that also means that individuals who rent their home throughout charging high rent to cover their mortgage payments.
