Tighter mortgage standards remains – Financieele Dagblad (Registration)

Minister Block is not going to deviate from the standard mortgage advice from budget office Nibud. The CDA had asked there. The new calculation method Nibud is the maximum mortgage that can get a home buyer the bank from January 1, sharply down. Nibud suggested stricter standards to prevent people from excessive loads into financial problems.

Modal incomes may almost 8% less borrowing under the new standards, calculated Hypotheekshop last November.

CDA wanted to delay

The CDA insisted last month to postpone the settlement and called Block to go to the table with brokers and employers’ organizations. The tightening of standards, which mainly apply to the lower incomes, would hinder the recovery of the housing market and thus threaten the fragile economic recovery.

Tuesday showed Block parliament know the concerns of the CDA to lay aside. The stricter standard mortgage goes as planned on January 1.

Nibud

The Department of the Interior shall determine every year the so-called mortgage standard and relies largely on data provided Nibud.
