DNB: no help at home under water – Yahoo! News

DNB: no help at home under water – Yahoo! News

No additional measures need to be found for those with a home that is under water, De Nederlandsche Bank. A house is under water if its value is less than the mortgage.

The IMF did last Friday recommendations to the Netherlands especially the younger homeowner who help flooded. Precisely because they feel the hard blow that has given the housing market since 2008.

More than 70 percent of the houses of homeowners under 30 years under water. In the group of 30 to 40 year olds is 60 percent (see graph).

The IMF proposes to relieve the younger generation to boost as consumption for the whole Dutch economy. This is possible by taking fiscal measures. For example by extending the schenkingsregeing.

But the Dutch Central Bank sees little in there. “The advice sounds sympathetic and that it is also for those young people who boarded” says Job Swank DNB. “The problem is: the group under water is so big that you can hardly compensate the difference between house price and mortgage Pain ends up somewhere.”.

To extend the tax exemption is a possibility says Swank. “That might be an option, but that account is ultimately paid in The Hague because tax exemptions cost you again budgetary leeway course. It’s a choice.”
