Greece wants to reduce taxes again – The Standard


             The Greek government wants some unpopular tax increases that were implemented during the height of the debt crisis in the country, going to reverse. That made the Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras announced Saturday in his annual speech at the end of the summer on the state of the economy.
         

“This is the year that Greece must stand on its own feet,” said Samaras. “The country is still injured, indeed, but the wounds are starting to heal, and we look to the future.”

The prime minister expects the Greek economy this year for the first time in six years to slight growth will come true. The Greek government is expected in the third quarter, though a small plus. That would be the first quarterly growth since the country got into a recession in 2008.

In the eyes of the Greek Government also need the European Union and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to realize that it is time to begin reducing cuts. This would provide scope to stimulate economic growth and promote political stability. In the southern European country Greek officials brought the tax cuts this week forward in talks with international creditors in Paris. But there is still no confirmation that accepting the plan.
