Agricultural and horticultural organization LTO Netherlands is not happy with the fact that many supermarkets the prices of fruit and vegetables have significantly decreased. The supermarkets want growers so help but lower prices is not the way, says Nico Lozenges LTO against the NIS.

LTO fears that the price decreases in supermarkets purchase prices under pressure come to be, and that would not be able to have the gardeners, who are already in trouble by the recently proclaimed Russian boycott. at From Diamonds:

“The growers are not helped by the actions. The tomato prices have fallen by 60 percent, and for tomatoes and cucumbers growers get 30 to 40 percent less. From the perspective of the grower can be sold better less for a reasonable price, then a lot for nothing, as is happening now. Consumers should also be aware that growers need a reasonable price. “

LTO prefers that products be removed from the market rather than the price is reduced. This is from Monday, when Brussels action comes to European growers because of the Russian boycott to accomodate.

LTO yesterday applauded the measures that the government announced is increasing. “This is what we have asked the government and the private sector,” said LTO chairman Albert Jan Maat on the measures. Along with measures LTO expected from Brussels next week, hopes the agricultural and horticultural organization that a strong market recovery can be deployed, said Maat. Commissioner of Agriculture Dacian Ciolo said Thursday that Brussels Monday comes with new, targeted measures that the fruit and vegetable market in the European Union should stabilize. For affected farmers a billion total would be made available.
