Two parties discuss restart V & D – Financieele Dagblad

For a restart of the bankrupt V & D are two sides in the race: the Canadian Hudson’s Bay and the Dutch retail entrepreneur Roland Kahn. So say sources involved in the negotiations

According to an internal memo to the V &. D personnel, current affairs EenVandaag Friday published the final interviews with a Dutch party. V & D director John van der Ent writes to be “very happy” with the prospective buyer

Jumbo.

Roland Kahn, the entrepreneur behind the fashion chains Coolcat, America Today and Sapph denies V & D to want to buy . “I’m really doing other things,” he says. But parties in the takeover process are saying concerned Kahn hanging out with the Jumbo family of Graduated, previously restaurant chain La Place bought from the bankrupt V & D assets

Terwijl the Dutch parties V & D want to start in the current form, Hudson’s Bay really want to introduce a new store concept. Canadian retail company, also owns the German department store chain Kaufhof and Galeria Inno stores in Belgium, strongly believes in the combination of Internet sales and fine department stores.

Saks stores

Hudson’s has big plans in Europe. The company said last year to use the purchase of Kaufhof for further expansion in Europe. The owner of Saks Fifth Avenue Saks plans to open stores in the largest Kaufhof stores and is perhaps in V & D buildings. Further, V & D advantage of the many brands and house brands that Canadians buy

The company has five hundred large department stores “. says retail expert Ton Bos. “Think of what that means for their purchasing power. There’s Hema but a little one. I think that V & D with Hudson’s weather really a player can be where competitors must take into account and customers like to go

Archrival

The retail advisor calls next Kahn, who was once involved in a bid for Hema, Ahold also as a prospective buyer. That seems a problematic combination with rival Jumbo, but Bos sees a future in a kind of shopping center with the Albert Heijn, Etos and Gall & amp; Gall and internet department store Bol.com, along with those of other chains and online stores

That can be a difficult issue, but the property owners want to get thrown out for the feet that they save by V & D thwart

restart

How many stores make a new start, is still uncertain. A spokesman for the trustees wanted to Friday only say that a restart of department stores V & D seems secured. The administrators have with one party exclusive talks, said negotiations are in ‘final stages’ are.

The directors do not feel put under pressure because benefits agency UWV stop working after February 17 continued payment of wages and employees of V & D to stay at home. But the spokesman thinks there may be a quick agreement. “In theory, this evening or Sunday live on the negotiations, but no sooner than early next week is more likely.

statement V & amp; D

following media reports felt V & D apparently forced himself Friday night with a statement to come. According to the department store group ‘attach the receivers of V & D to emphasize that at present there is still no certainty about a sale or restart of V & D. ” Well let V & D know that there is currently “a Dutch prospective buyer advanced talks” take place on the restart of the warehouse operations and La Place Instore branches. “Because at the moment the bank financing is not yet final, but mainly because is not yet clear whether all sites which the buyer wants to start by the property owners again for renting to V & will be offered D, can now no further announcements are made “said V &.
