Sales and profits higher for PostNL, mainly thanks packages – Financieele Dagblad

Post Company PostNL quarter posted higher sales and operating profit. This made the company announced Monday at the presentation of the figures in the fourth quarter.

Revenue increased by 1% to € 1.01 billion and adjusted operating profit decreased by 21% up to € 147 million . net income decreased by € 15 million to € 101 million.

The company saw the amount of worried letters fall (9.5%) but this was offset by higher rates for sending letters. A postage stamp cost € 69 cents last year. The seals in recent years became more expensive and costs now more than double a decade ago.

group gave 11.4% more boxes off. During high season, the company reached a peak of 1.4 million packages a day. The 7% revenue from parcel delivery went up last quarter.

Chairman Herna Verhagen 2015 calls a solid year for PostNL, said the results were slightly higher than the targets. Over 2015 sales were equivalent to € 3.46 billion and increased underlying operating profit by 6% to € 303 million.

this year, it expects an operating profit of between € 220 million and € 260 million. it expects further growth in the parcel services and more international transport for this year. she expects a “challenging environment” for the delivery of letters in the Netherlands.
