The first woman to fly solo around the world, is deceased. The American Geraldine “Jerrie” Mock, also known as the flying housewife was called, was 88 years. According to a friend she died Tuesday at her home in the state of Florida
.
Mock was 38 years old when she started in 1964 world. She rose up from Columbus (Ohio) in a single-engine Cessna aircraft, called ‘Spirit of Columbus. ” After 29 days had 1 meter 50 small mom traveled more than 37,000 kilometers. Safe they set foot on the ground in Columbus.
That she did something Amelia Earhart failed. The American aviatrix tried to make the longest flight ever in 1937 but failed in its mission. They never reached the final destination, and was declared dead in 1939. Amelia Earhart was, however, the first person to solo flying over the Pacific Ocean. That happened in 1935.
