Secretary of State Martin van Rijn called the layoffs Friday “to a message.” Concerned unions are shocked.

According to FNV Care & amp; Welfare is unnecessary that jobs disappear in home care, because last year’s 300 million euros extra become available for the home care.

Municipalities

municipalities have become responsible for people with relatively Light care demands that can continue to live at home. In interviews determines what care and how much care a person needs. The municipality care then buys himself at fixed rates.

In practice, this means that employees who first gave more complex care, now have to make a cheaper form of home help. But the people who were already employed, are paid according to previously signed agreements. They are therefore relatively expensive for the tasks they perform.

TSN, the largest home care organization in the Netherlands, thus decreased own hourly wages by 20 to 30 percent. But the judge put a stop to this.

TSN then asked to defer payment. The organization has since reversed the salary reduction and is preparing a takeover by Buurtzorg
