More Dutch have holiday plans – Dutch Newspaper

THE HAGUE Approximately 10.7 million Dutch are planning to go on summer vacation this year. That is 1.5 percent more than last year and the first increase since 2011. This was reported by Dutch Bureau for Tourism & amp; Conventions (NBTC) Tuesday, based on a survey conducted with TNS NIPO. The researchers attribute the increase to the improved economic climate.

Some 2.5 million people want to spend their holidays in their own country. That is almost 50,000 less than last year. The number of Dutch holidaymakers foreign plans has increased by 100,000 to around 7.6 million. There are some 600,000 Dutch who do not yet know whether it is a holiday at home or abroad

France remains the number one destination abroad.; 1.3 million Dutch are planning to spend their holidays this summer. Spain (1 million) and Germany (750,000) followed. The increase in consumer confidence translates into an increase in the number of Dutch that are a far flight on the program. There are approximately 750,000, 5 percent more than last year.

About 60 percent of all summer plans for a domestic or foreign summer holidays early April as specified. Nearly 30 percent of holidaymakers still have books and over 10 percent is expected on spec.
