Fyra successor is far too often – Yahoo! News

The high-speed train service between Amsterdam and Breda, Intercity Direct, is far too often. The failure of the successor of Fyra fluctuates between 5.3 percent and 11.5 percent, much higher than the NS claims.

NRC reports today that the standards and performance agreements made are not met for the fast train service. The standard uses the NS is based on a projection of 2.5 percent in 2014.

NS admits that the finding by the NRC that the train runs regularly is wrong or fail in time. “It is as it is. It’s annoying for travelers, but the reliability and punctuality are still not at the desired level.”

The NS recently issued figures which deviate significantly from the delays. According to the railways does that correlate with the failures that are attributable to ProRail.

More train services
In NS takes the reliability this year are increasing. “That is our highest priority,” said a spokesman.

It is getting busier by the NS trains on the high speed rail. Soon, therefore, the number of train services between Amsterdam and Breda increased from two to three per hour.
