Disney today reported revenue of $ 12.5 billion (11.2 billion euros) for the second quarter of its fiscal year broken. That was 7 percent more than a year earlier. Net income rose 10 percent to $ 2.1 billion, while operating profit increased by 4 percent to 3.5 billion dollars.
The result grew strongest in the merchandise related to movies, where the operational profit almost a third higher than a year earlier. This growth primarily was due to the popularity of ‘Frozen’ and, to a lesser extent, The Avengers.
The film division turned less than a year earlier. This was mainly because a film like “Big Hero 6″ fewer visitors to the cinemas attracted over ‘Frozen’ last year. DVD sales also fell, for lack of follow-up to the 2014 hit.
