Number of foreclosures increased in 2014 to 4792 – Focus on News

This increase is somewhat tempered by the reduction of the cost limit per July 1, 2014 to € 265,000. The number of new guarantees from the third to the fourth quarter increased by approximately 8%. This reports the Homeownership Guarantee Residence (WEW), which the National Mortgage Guarantee (NHG) issued Wednesday on the website

A total of 4,792 households in 2014 (2013: 4,521). Invoked because NHG a forced sale of the property loss. The trend of a rapidly growing number of loss claims thus still seems to be leveling off. However, it takes into account a further increase in the number of losses by the lag effect of the crisis. The average paid loss amount in 2014 with € 39,240 relatively stable compared to 2013 (€ 39,347).

Because of the increased number of new guarantees and the still limited increase in the number of loss claims fund assets increased in 2014 slightly to € 804 million. The expectation is that the number of losses will increase and the fund’s assets will be addressed to absorb mounting losses. Based on current insights into the development of the economy and the housing market, and stable government, no claim to backstop the government is expected.
