Air France speaks dismissal of 5,000 workers from – Parool.nl

Air France denies that it is working on plans to cut up to 5,000 jobs. The French newspaper Le Figaro reported Tuesday that based on unnamed sources in the French airline which forms an alliance with KLM.

A spokesman for Air France said the message from tonight. According to Air France, it is too early to speculate on further interventions. French sister company KLM deleted spend the last years almost 8,000 jobs in an effort to lower costs and improve competitiveness.

The results have improved by these interventions, but especially labor costs remain weigh heavily on the budget, while competition has only become more intense. Parent company Air France-KLM gave in mid-December for the third time in six months time, a profit warning.
