Young people leave parental home later and later – NU.nl

The average age at which young people leave home and live independently since 2006 gone up from 23.6 years to 24.6 years, the Central Bureau reports for Statistics (CBS) on Friday.

ten years ago, lived 85 percent of eighteen-year-olds at home and that has increased slightly, to 88 percent. When 24-year-olds, the percentage of students living at home in ten years from 32 to 36 percent.

Nearly 1.1 million young people between eighteen and thirty years now live with their parents or guardians. Not only do they set the date of their parents’ home leave off, they turn more often again.
