This enables Greenpeace based research organization SOMO in all 390 municipalities.
According to the environmental elect the majority of the municipalities for the cheapest “dirty” power, not the greenest power. “This goes against agreements from 2007, in which municipalities, provinces and the national government agreed to aim for 100 percent sustainable procurement by 2015.”
There are also municipalities that unsustainable current show ‘green washing’ with green certificates and there are those who diminish the great power but do not have the appropriate certificates.
All municipalities account for 2 percent of all electricity in the Netherlands.
