‘Number shoplifting remains high’ – AD.nl

The figures show crime on many fronts show a sharp decline, but that does not apply to shoplifting. Still annually for hundreds of millions of dollars stolen from stores.

Last year the scheme has been used 8,000 times. In 65 percent of cases, the thief paid directly to the retailer. In other cases, a collection process was started and nearly 80 percent of claims yet recovered from the perpetrators.
