Brussels is working to lower VAT on internet newspaper – Parool.nl

The European Commission is preparing a proposal to increase the VAT rate to digital to lower versions of newspapers. That committee has pledged Jean-Claude Juncker.

According to Juncker’s proposals national governments should give the possibility to reduce the tax on Internet newspapers. Now, to be paid more tax than digital versions of printed newspapers.

So are printed newspapers, and printed books in the Netherlands under the low VAT rate of 6 percent. Digital newspapers and books must be paid 21 percent VAT

The proposals will be presented in the first half of next year, said Juncker
