Red glow turns sea sparkle – Telegraaf.nl

THE HAGUE –

The red glow was spotted along beaches of the North Sea, is Noctiluca. According to research by Public Works

.

Noctiluca is a unicellular which can cause irritation to the skin and respiratory tract. ,, It therefore seems better that people do not go into the water, ” said the spokeswoman. The red flag will therefore remain in a number of resorts in top. A visit to the beach, however, is still possible.

Swimming in the sea is not recommended between Scheveningen and Katwijk. Further north is just swimming allowed. Also south of Scheveningen and in Zeeland can swim anywhere.

Department of Public Works to the advice not to go into the sea because sea sparkle in the North Sea has been found, according to the Royal Dutch Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) an excessive measure. The institute believes that people just can swim anywhere, but if they just rinse with fresh water as soon as they go out to the sea.

The Coast Guard performs Monday a reconnaissance flight, to see how far the sea sparkle is still visible. Rijkswaterstaat will in the course of the day the water investigate again.

Sunday was fear that the red glow was caused by the red pest algae. There was therefore a bathing prohibition between Scheveningen and Katwijk aan Zee.

@ 12:58 what are you now that our sea bran decades is nasty pesticides and nitrates from agriculture. Take a look at your statement of the water boards, which is one of the most expensive in Europe, and you know why that is? Netherlands as one of the best qualities of water management in the world, we are also one of the few countries where you can drink tap water that has been filtered out of the dirty ditch yours. it is not here in India, or Indonesia.

Here in Florida we have that often, it is called “Red Tide”. The waves on the coast it is sprayed in the air and that gives irritation to the respiratory tract (cough). That you are not allowed to swim in, I’ve actually never heard of, it seems to me nonsense. Everyone does that here for years without negative consequences. It’s just annoying because you get more tickling cough. Incidentally, it is happening now in the NL, is evidence that it is apparently becoming warmer in Northern Europe.

Gymnodinium breve (Jim Brevis) seems, fortunately, this is not it. This alga has in 1966 in Florida causes chronic respiratory problems for many people, and there died millions of fish and lots of manatees. Since it is getting warmer here too … They called it as “red tide.”

Noctiluca is a single-celled dinoflagellate that looks like a tiny balloon with a tail that is not toxic by itself but may be associated with massive presence of these celdiertjes accumulations of ammonia occur. s, night gives this mass a lit flare at sea.

There is just something unusual and there is direct alarm in the shack. It seems the US does. There is also whipped everything exaggerated. It is the Peter and the Wolf – story. As a red flag means nothing, because they are used for the slightest. Kind of like the proclamation of yellow alert or red. Usually a storm in a teacup (a harmless algae this time)

A red flag means just very simple bathing was prohibited. The enforcement swimmers should therefore get out of the water and should give a penalty. If the red flag is a justified measure, is another matter.

Our sea has for decades been nasty. The foaming brown water is caused by the filthy river water is packed with insecticides, pesticides and nitrates. This nasty stuff that comes mainly from agriculture ruining our environment. Will we get the clean sea ever again? Is this such progress? src=”http://www.telegraaf.nl/wuz/sites/all/themes/zen/css/images/clear.gif” src=”http://www.telegraaf.nl/wuz/sites/all/themes/zen/css/images/clear.gif”
