The brewer produced less due to capacity crates than Jumbo supermarket chain wanted, but now the problems are partially solved, as confirmed by a spokesman for the brewer to NU.nl after reports in the media on Wednesday.
“Jumbo let out mid-May to need one million additional crates that Heineken could not just settle,” the spokesman said. “Meanwhile deliver the measures we have taken that on. It was a scheduling problem, no reluctance. It is not that we are going to deliver under pressure from the ad.”
Earlier this week Jumbo set a full-page ad in several newspapers, in which it accused the company Heineken influence to bear on the price of beer. The brewer himself denies interfering with the pricing and promotions from retailers.
“Heineken fact find that we crates over a long period offer too cheap. But we let you obviously do not fall and keep this advantage on to our pricing policy,” said Jumbo in the ad.
Jumbo has a number of weeks an action, where customers can buy a second crate for half price. The supermarket company was considering legal action against Heineken.
Regular volumes
Jumbo leaves in a reaction that Heineken indeed this week will again deliver the regular volumes. In the short term, this is expanded to the volumes required for the seasonal offer.
“We will continue the constructive talks with Heineken on this. Probably an interim order of the job,” said the supermarket company. “We have, since December last year with Heineken consult on our volumes and are delighted for our customers that Heineken his production may increase now.”
