UPDATE Switzerland will enter a basic income. The first results of the referendum shows that a large majority of voters voted against the plan. The proposal was to every adult citizen every month unconditionally to pay an amount equivalent to 2,250 euros.
According to a projection by the Swiss transmitter SRF voted whopping 78 percent of the Swiss against the basic income.
Pre being the polls already on a rejection of the proposal. Voters would fear escalating costs, a concern that was shared by the government. The plan was to pay unconditionally every adult incomes converted 2,250 euros per month. There would ancestors still substantial amounts per child (560 euros) to come.
The referendum came after supporters had collected the required one hundred thousand signatures.
