Martinair decided in March last year to reduce the fleet drastically. Thus a total of 110 pilots were redundant.
In the past year, several dozen pilots or left voluntarily switched to eg sister company Transavia. For 37 pilots, however, found a solution that made the freight subsidiary of KLM airline announced Thursday.
The last few weeks has been tried in consultation with the pilots union VNV still to avoid that they would be fired. Before that they had or have to settle for less work and less pay.
This is the first time in years that compulsory redundancies at the KLM group.
