EU agreement with bridging loan to Greece – Yahoo! News

The European Union has agreed to a bridging loan of more than EUR7 billion for Greece, money that may already Monday to Athens goes. This has Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission, Friday confirmed.

The emergency financing would be no day come too soon, as Greece must repay Monday over EUR4 billion to the European Central Bank ( ECB) and arrears to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The German parliament Berlin gave earlier in the day the mandate to engage in negotiations on a third support package for Greece worth EUR86 billion. The Bundestag thereby also gave their approval to the bridging loan. Chancellor Angela Merkel will probably again have to ask permission from parliament, where there is also used real money for Greece from the ESM.

This puts an end to a turbulent week in which a Grexit was provisionally averted.
