Around 64 percent of drivers and conductors has to do with physical violence. This varies from spitting to threat with a firearm, writes Algemeen Dagblad .

A conductor would be thrown out of the train and another would be fired, according to a survey of rail union VVMC in cooperation with the newspaper. NS says to know nothing of a shooting incident.

A third of the conductors and drivers would be considered by the violence to stop work.
