The economic crisis in the years 2011 to 2013 for all provinces of Drenthe hit hardest. The gross domestic product of the province declined in that period by more than 3.5%, according to figures released Monday by Statistics Netherlands.
Gelderland
This will eliminate the difference between Drenthe, which still has the lowest GDP per capita, and the other provinces further. Gelderland did in the same period the best of all provinces, with an economic growth of nearly 1%.
Although the economy shrank Drenthe , the unemployment rate in the region is not too bad. Which is 6.5% even slightly below the national average.
Flevoland unemployment by 9.2% (according to the international definition) the highest, followed by Friesland (7.8%), Groningen (7.5%) and South Holland (7.2%).
