Bpost explains bid at PostNL in January for AFM NU.nl

The Belgian company is trying PostNL for some time to be drawn into a collaboration. A formal bid has not yet been submitted, but the Belgians have already several times a proposal to a bid lodged.

PostNL found that proposal to be low, and saw it more not to in the hands to come into a company in which the Belgian government a large interest.

Bpost increased Wednesday to his bid to 5,75 euro per share to Tnt, in both in shares and in cash. That’s according to Bpost in the total down to € 2.5 billion. Furthermore, Bpost has a construction that ensures that the appointment right of the Belgian state for the members of the board of directors is restricted.

Some of the major shareholders of PostNL carried out earlier in the day the pressure on the board of the Dutch postal service. They want that the group is in negotiation with Bpost on the improved proposal.
