Green light for acquisitions television company BSkyB – AD.nl

The European Commission has given the green light for the acquisitions in Italy and Germany by the British pay-TV provider BSkyB. That made the commission announced today.



BSkyB takes over the operations of Sky Italia television company 21st Century Fox, part of News Corp. media tycoon Rupert Murdoch. In addition, BSkyB acquires more than 57 percent in Sky Deutschland on Fox. According to the European Commission, these transactions do not lead to concerns about competition and price because they operate in different national markets. The acquisitions were announced in July.

A large European provider TV
BSkyB, which itself is owned by Fox, 39 percent pay more than 2 billion pounds ( 2.5 billion euros) for the Sky channel in Italy and carries a share of 21 percent in National Geographic Channel over at Fox. In addition, BSkyB pay almost 3 billion pounds for Sky Deutschland. The acquisitions a major European TV provider with about 20 million customers. Arises
